Photobucket

We're Off to See the Wizard the wonderful Wizard of Oz to hopefully get the Tin Man a heart, the Lion courage, and the Scarecrow a brain! But there's the poppy fields to beware of as you could get very sleepy! The Wicked Witch but we know she's afraid of water. The flying monkeys . . . just totally freaky looking!!!! You're probably still dizzy from the spinning whirling twirling house and watching all those things passing by like a nightmare expecially that Miss Gulch on her bicycle! Poor Toto hiding in the basket, but can you blame him? Don't pay any attention to the man behind the curtain as he knows not what he speaks! And then there are the delightful munchkins that sing 3 octives highly than humanly possible. I almost forgot the good witch Glinda - how could I forget her --- she was just too sugary sweet to my standards but as a Good Witch goes, she was the best, but why didn't she just tell Dorothy she had the power to return all along and wait until the end - geesh! And then only bad witches are ugly --- come on now! Its the Merry Old Land of Oz! I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore Toto. . . .

We're paying homage to the Wizard of Oz today with our blog hop! So, grab your beverage of choice and those ruby red slippers of yours, click them twice and repeat after me - "there's no place like home, there's no place like home"!

For Blog Candy we have a 7 - piece paper assortment of 12 x 12 pieces of paper by Paper House Productions

We have a great line-up for you today and you should have arrived from Inga's Blog . If not, or you just dropped in to visit today, we don't want you to miss a single story of the travels of our "characters" from start to finish and would love for you to begin at the beginning of our hop -Lynne's Blog

For my project I revisited my previous post and created a Mini digital album of my grandson's 3rd Birthday I was going to print it out into a hard copy but computer and printer are not speaking to each other at the moment so here are the pages I completed Hope you enjoy my tale....

I used Creative Memories Storybook Creator software to create each page.
The Paper file is from  Urban Mermaid Designs " The Wizard Of Oz Kit "

As every good story, it has a beginning and a happily ever after - Dorothy went home and all was well with the world and Dorothy told Auntie Em - there's no place like home!!!!!! AWWWW how sweet! Hope you enjoyed my project and I must send you along your way to Berenice's Blog   and a place beyond the rainbow -

Our complete line-up in case you get lost along the way due to those darn flying monkeys:

Scrapping with Lisa's Designs Design Team Weather Bear Hop

  • Welcome to Scrapping with Lisa's Designs Design Team displaying Lisa's Weather Bear files, http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/category_13/Weather-Bear.htm, which is available in her store. Today, the complete Design Team will showcase both Rain Gear bear and Winter Clothes Bear in various ways to show the versatility of this file.

My bear was Rain Bear. I cut him by hand inked the edges with black and brown and other colors of ink glued the pieces together used some Stickles on the umbrella tips and my bear was done.

Then came the hard part how to present him in something other than a card or layout. I mulled a few ideas around in my head but decided on this " Weather Board"

This is going to be an interactive board! The bear cuts and the Clouds cuts are on Magnets so they can be removed and replaced with other bears in Lisa's weather bear file!!  I'm thinking my grand kids would love this, I used my cricut and gypsy to cut the clouds ( creative memories cart 'Be Young') and fonts from 'A Child's Year and Cricut Alphabet and of course the state  was cut from 50 States cart.

Wouldn't want you to get lost along with way of the seasons. Here is the complete line-up with both teams combined.

Be sure to stop and remark at each stop along the way along with the Design Team Page, http://scrappingwithlisadesignsdt.blogspot.com/, and become a follower!!!!! Lisa is offering your choice of which Weather Bear you would like to two lucky people who have remarked and became a follower.

Thanks again for stopping and remember to stop again the following Monday!!!!

The hop starts with Lynne (http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/). You won't want to miss a single occasion!!!
For my project I chose "Armed Forces Day" ! Here is a brief History of it's inception.
President Harry S. Truman led the effort to establish a single holiday for citizens to come together and thank our military members for their patriotic service in support of our country.
On August 31, 1949, Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson announced the creation of an Armed Forces Day to replace separate Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force Days.

The single day celebration stemmed from the unification of the Armed Forces under the Department of Defense.

For my project I created a layout to celebrate my families Service to the country. It is not quite finished I am missing photos of both my grandfathers who served during WWI. I have been wanting to do this layout for a very long time. Both my parents served during WWII and I was in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era!

I used Creative Memories "Storybook creator" software to create this page. The background paper is from "TLC Creations" and the embellishment are from a number of different digital files I have From Creative Memories , My Memories and other sources.
I have a second project which is actually an old one and the very first post I ever made to my blog but it is quite appropriate for this day!

Thinking Outisde the Yoke Her Craft Kre8tions first ever Blog Hop

Welcome to Her Craft Kre8tions first ever Blog Hop which we are calling Thinking Outside the Yoke. Each Design Team Member was given a paper mache egg and were to transform this into something other than what was given to them originally. Our Design Team is to think outside of the "card" and do something other than cards and layouts. What a challenge .... could you meet this challenge?

Check out our incredible creative Design Team . . . .

Let's start with thinking outside of the yoke of our eggs . . . .
For my egg-citing project I decided to create a vase with flowers! cut the top of the egg off pierced a hole in the ends of each piece. Painted it with Apple Barrel Acrylic paint in China Blue 2 coats. Stamped little butterflies on both pieces with Tim Holtz Broken China  Distress ink. Found the perfect bead for the stem at Wal-mart in their dollar bead collection. The floral trim is from my stash of craft supplies crochet a bunch of tiny flowers in different colors, wired them with a bead for the flower center and tiny green 5 petal flower on the base and hot glued them together I cut fern pieces in two sizes and 3 different shades of green from the Cricut "Spring Cottage" cartridge.Stuck the flowers into a piece of foam packaging wrapped Spanish moss around it and put it in the cup added the ferns randomly and here it is.

Hope you enjoyed your stop and Like my transformation.  Your next stop is Kimberly on this wonderful Egg-venture! Don't forget to leave some love for a chance to win  the awesome prize offered by the group!
